Overload? Take Time To Enjoy!

This post was most recently updated on June 7th, 2010

Internet marketing can be a difficult task.  There is always something to do, something to learn, something to take action on.

Overload is a very common to Internet Marketers.  There is always so much going on.   You can be working on one project, and get spun around to another.  As marketers it is important to take some time out to enjoy your day.  Even if it is only on half hour, it will refresh you and give you a new outlook.  Going back to your computer, you will be more alert.

I live in Ithaca and two houses from the Ithaca Falls.   The falls are a magical place for me because of it’s ancient history.  It is always 10 degrees cooler there and a great place for my dogs and I to take some time out and enjoy nature.  When I return from a romp here, my head is cleared and I feel refreshed.

What do you do for a break?  Do you leave your office? Turn of the Blackberry? Take a walk without your cell phone?  Go to the gym? Whatever it is, it is IMPORTANT.    If you are not doing this, you will eventually suffer from burnout.  Now, there is no room for that here.  We, as internet marketers, are in control of our lives.  But we must remember to take that break.

If you were working a 9 to 5 “job” you would have two 15 minute breaks and an hour lunch per day.  Treat yourself that way if you are noticing you are logging on in the morning and lift your head and it is 3 o’clock.  Has that ever happened to you?  It has for me.  Even though I know my schedule that I make for myself, it doesn’t always work.

I hope this little video of me and my dogs inspire you to take that break.  Refresh yourself and go back to your work.  You’ll see that it works wonders. This is just “a day in the life” of what I do. I wanted to share it with you because I’d like you to take your breaks to prevent overload.

Internet marketing is amazing, but we do get caught up and some just give up because they get overwhelmed.
Don’t give up. Take this tip and you will be surprised how it will change your life.
Yours in Success, Donna Merrill

It’s wonderful so see how relaxed you are there by the falls with your dogs. A perfect way to remind us all to take an uplifting break in nature! Thank you, Donna!

I always try to take some “time-out” – it doesn’t always work, but it is refreshing to do.

Hi Kellie, thanks for your reply. I knew you would be surprised we have waterfalls in NY. You are in the land of waterfalls. Isn’t running water such a relaxing energy?
As for you being a Yankee fan, I must confess I still am a Met fan. -Donna

    Aloha Donna,

I love the waterfalls in your backyard and your cute dogs! Yes, it’s so important to take the time to enjoy and live each day! That’s what I like about working at home because I relax and enjoy each and everyday!

As you know, when I look out my balcony I am surrounded by mountains an greenery and when it rains, tons of waterfalls come down the mountains. True beauty and nature. It’s nice to see you have that in New York also. BTW, did I ever tell you we are HUGE Yankee fans. (watching the game right now)
    We LOVE New York!!

    Aloha my friend,
    Kellie 🙂

Love your accent! And thanks so much for sharing a video of your beautiful back yard. I should go up to mine and send you a video so you can see where I go to relax when it all gets too much…. which it DOES!! Isn’t water such a great healer, especially RUNNING water.

I’ve heard that there are negative ions in the air around running water, particularly the ocean which are very good for us….

Reading Scott’s comment about ‘balance’ has given me the idea of sharing something in a future blog post about the difference between balance and harmony….LOL

Thanks for stimulating the grey matter… Love Sandhan xxxx

Thank you Sadhan. It’s a Broklyn Accent lol!
I always have to live by running water. I grew up near an ocean and thought I could never leave it, but I found out that the waterfall energy carries similar relaxation.

This water is loaded with minerals. When I swim in it, I feel like I have used conditioner in my hair. My skin is also softer. It’s because of the silt. I just love the energy and so do the dogs.

Yes Scott, there is a balance we need to keep that balance. Without it there would be no purpose why we are here!
