Develop Your Power – Part 1

You have the power to accomplish anything you want. You may not believe this. You don’t have to. You only have to develop your power, use your power, and you will then know how truly massive and undeniable it is.

Develop your power and enjoy a whole new sense of being. It may feel alien in the beginning. It may feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar. But the more you use your power, the more you will sense that you have converged with the greater flow of the power of the Universe.

I’m interested in hearing your comments and your own stories of developing your power. Also, I always appreciate your retweets, Facebook and other social media shares of this post.

Many Blessings,

Donna

“Personal power is the ability to stand on your own two feet with a smile on your face in the middle of a universe that contains a million ways to crush you.”
    ― J.Z. Colby

Hi Donna! I wanted to share one of my favorite quotes about power. Thank you for your post! Tony Robbins talks a lot about tapping into your personal power. I love it when someone realizes they had the “POWER” to make a change all along..When we need our power the most, is often when we don’t think we have anything left. That’s when you have to dig deep!! Thanks again!

Hi Donna, It’s so true, we let go of our power when we react instead of respond. When we react, our fists are closed and when we respond, our palms are open. I really appreciated your inspiring video. It reminds me to let go and respond with love.
    Have a blessed weekend,
    Lynn

To succeed on a matter that needs to be accomplished, we just need to condition our mind that we can do it instead of think negatively.

  5. Jenny Sanders December 16, 2011 at 6:06 am #

Donna I totally agree on what you said on the video. It is us who makes our destiny. We need to make the best out of life.

We are reponsible of what we attract! Keep arguing and being in conflict drains us and we can choose PEACE.

I like the anchor of the fist, Donna.
Being with our hands open to receive is about being in our pwoer…

Inner power is about being oursleves and being in the flow.
We know when we are in our power from the positive emotions we libv in the now.
Thanks for ths post and video;)

    Donna – Beautiful post.

I think the hardest part for people isn’t the trying to work out what the power is and how to use it, but to actually to wake up to the facts that they have a power at all.

I often wish school and other place children and young people learn from would be encourage to follow their dreams and to develop their ‘powers’ over doing the mundane curriculum.

    Loved the video 🙂

Awesome Beth! I have the same “hope” that schools would teach children encouragement and their unique gifts they have to offer. There are some schools who have that do that, but they are few and far between.

Hello Donna. I truly believe in the power. We are all in charge of our own outcome. Our actions and thoughts are so powerful. The law of attraction and laws of the Univers are key to life and business in so many ways. A big THANK YOU. I look forward to reading your future posts.

    Hello Donna,

LOVED your video…You are so wonderful at explaining this concept. Your example with the first is awesome and so true. To stay in our power is not easy. Actually it is a lot harder to work on ourselves and change our behaviors then to stay in the victim mode and not want to look at ourselves.

To be in our power is freedom! It’s a beautiful place to be and it empowers our loved one to do the same. We becomes inspiring beings when take the time to meditate and transform our life! You are awesome Donna and again your example with the palms open I think is going to stay with me. Thank you…You are a gift and I am thankful to know you

Beautiful girlfriend! And I love the softer look you’ve taken in this video. This whole video made me smile (welcome back by the way!).

I JUST shared a quote on twitter a few minutes ago that totally fits here and I really love….

“You take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame. ~ Erica Jong”

Wow, no one to blame, interesting concept and in fact probably why most people don’t even try! Most of us are accustomed to having someone ELSE to blame and scared of having to take responsibility for our results or lack there of.

    Great reminder sweetie,
    Kim

Thanks for the awesome quote too. So many are caught up in the blame game that their lives are at a standstill. There is no room to go forward. I am happy I made you smile.

Yes I do have the power. I have learnt to believe in myself as I started off with very limited resources and the fact that I am here where I am today is because I believed I had the power. Thanks for sharing this great blog/video post as a reminder!

Great message, Donna! I know it when I am in my ‘power’ and then I do also know it when I get a little off track.. But let me tell you that with time it has become so much fun.. It feels good. I know others who are in victim mode, (used to be there) and am so glad I have learned to be in my power! I love feeling that flow of the power of the Universe you mention…

It does feel good Holly! I used to be in victim mode a long time ago. But that is what gave me the push to get on my own path and find the strength within. It’s been a long time and it feels great each and every day that growth is with me.

I agree, wonderful message Donna! I think it’s hard for most people to accept they have power over their own lives – for some it’s a self-esteem issue, and for others it’s because accepting that you have power also means you have responsibility.

I know Marquita, It is hard for most people to recognize that they have true power, that’s why I decided to make this a four part series. I’ve encountered many of my clients who are struggling with this issue, so I had to do something about it and blog it.

Hi Donna – thanks for a great message, great way to start the day! I really think we can’t hear this enough. It’s so easy to slip into negativity, but by catching it quickly we can turn it around and be in our power again. It’s really the only place to be to offer our best to ourselves, to each other, to the world.

Hi Alexandria, Great to see you here my friend. Yes, it is easy to slip into negativity – our critical mind talks us out of things so many times. But, to be aware is the first step. As you said, by catching it quickly we can turn it around and get our power back again. It is human nature, as as everything else, if we start one little positive habit, it grows to be part of us.

I have been blogging for about a decade now, and teaching people about blogging and even WordPress. It really is my passion. In 2010, I decided to stop being just a blogger and try to reach people personally by speaking at WordPress conferences (WordCamps.) It was tough considering I have a son, and it was public speaking. I had not spoken in front of a large crowd since high school (and my class year alone was 592.)

However, I knew my material and I committed. Since that, I have done 7 WordCamps and a blogging conference. I feel like I have found more of my calling and feel more fulfilled.

So I guess, I honed in on my power, and took a leap of faith.

Some people never do that and they can benefit from your words.

So many people have a difficult time understanding the power within us because it seems so ‘woo-woo’. We are a product of our own environment, and as you said, if you want change you have to recognize you have the power to change. Ghandi said to BE the change you want to see in your life, and if that doesn’t speak to how much power we have then I don’t know what .
Keep up the good work Donna!

Thanks for your insightful comment Kellie! Once we recognize that we are a product of our environment, we can recognize the changes we want to make. That is the first step. I like Ghandi’s quote to BE the change you want to see in your life. Once we do that we are in the path of our own power.
      Thank you

Yes! I think the disconnect from our inner source of power comes from a place of wanting others or situations to change. We really need to just be responsible for our reactions and relax into the present.

You got it girl! We need to do this every day in order to focus. We usually get caught up in the hussle and bustle of things, especially during the holiday season when we do have to do more juggling than usual. Training ourselves to do one little re-group each day will become part of our daily routine.

Donna, what a fantastic message! Once we learn to live in our power, to acknowledge that it is there, we’ve opened ourselves up to infinite possibilities to create the day/the life that we desire. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom.

ps Ghandi and Parks are 2 of my heroes, they are great examples of how allowing your power to flow through you has the amazing potential to change lives!

Power takes practice each day. It is a mindset that has to be constant in your daily thinking.
