Prosperity Mindset

This post was most recently updated on July 28th, 2019

Prosperity MindsetWhat is prosperity to you?  Think about it.  If you had all the money you have ever dreamed of what would you do? I’m sure you are thinking, buy this, buy that, etc.  But that’s not what a “prosperity mindset” is all about.

I want you to stop for a moment.  Think of how you are attaining your wealth right now.  Think of the why.

If it is for you and your family, if it is for a new car, a bigger house, etc. that’s ok, but understand that you’re talking about money, not prosperity.  People often think prosperity and money are the same thing,  but they are not.  Money is a tangible currency that you can buy “things” with.  Prosperity is a mindset.

So let’s think in the prosperity mindset.  I am working hard for the sake of something bigger.  Giving!  That’s right boys and girls.  Think of how much you can give to others.  I’m sure you have a passion to change things in this world to make it a better place.  Think of that one thing you are passionate about and how you would make it better.  Now, you are in the flow.

When living life with a prosperity mindset, you focus your actions and efforts on what you can do to benefit others.  And, as fate would have it, this is the way so many people attain more growth in their businesses and become more successful than they ever thought they would.  Not because they actively sought money first and foremost, but because they acted through their mindset of prosperity to make their world a better place for everyone.

Don’t accept a mindset of limitation.  When we are working hard and sincerely thinking of others, doing things to benefit others, the energy of prosperity flows more freely than you can possibly know.

I have a personal passion for an organization. I dream about it.  It is my driving force to work harder than ever each day to benefit the organization. That is in my mind.  I don’t focus on accumulating stuff for myself.  Those things will take care of themselves.

Call it the Law of Attraction, power of prayer, magnetic marketing… whatever. The point is that the Universe responds to a mindset that expands out of the box and in passionate desire to help others.  This is the prosperity mindset, and it is no coincidence that it helps you become prosperous enough to be giving.

Call to action:  Try acting today through a prosperity mindset, not a “success” or “make money” of “financial freedom” one.  It may be difficult because we are programmed to make money.  But focus on what you can do right now, today, that will benefit others.  Expand this into a new way of doing things, accept it as your new mindset.  Then watch your business flow, like the waterfalls at the end of my video.

You’re absolutely right, Donna. Prosperity is a mindset. In fact, everything about our life is the result of our mindset. Failure is a mindset. Poverty is a mindset. Having great relationships . . . or perpetually failed relationships . . . is a mindset. Health is a mindset. Age is a mindset. Our whole attitude about and view of the world is a mindset. Only we can change our mindset and thus change our world.

Prosperity seems a good idea. But I feel I am not prepared to set my thoughts into “prosperity mindset.” Although I am trying to be optimistic on what I do, I guess I have a lot of catching up with law of attraction. I like your way of “Don’t accept a mindset of limitation” because I felt I am trying not to limit myself with the goals that I could be able to accomplish.

    Donna,

This was remarkable on mindset. We have to practice and visulize on all the points you make in creating a positive unlimited lifestyle.

When we get focused on doubt that is what makes things not happen. You have developed a method of transforming our thoughts into being reality.

We are the molders of our outcomes. Now, that is the belief most can not get over. They need to be surrounded by people who are positive like yourself. If seeing others utilize the method, they too will being to live in prosperity.

Donna, your amazing and insightful leader in our industry. I just love your site and leave empowered. Nice waterfall!

I love that you said not to concentrate on making money or being successful. Sure, those things are important, but one of the vital elements of living a happy life is helping others. The thing is that helping others also means we help ourselves because it’s so fulfilling when we get it right.

Oh yes Anne, we ourselves have to be fulfilled in order to be centered and grounded to help others. Once our funnel of prosperity comes in we have the ability to help spread the wealth. But having a higher goal does help with the energies in the universe. Helping others is our goal, why else would we be here working so hard lol.

    Hi Donna

    Thanks for this great blog.

I agree on every word you say , like out old friend Zig Ziglar always say , “you can have what ever you want if you help others’s to get what they want in life”

If what you do or want is good to the world, to God or the universe then good will come back to you it is law and you can’t change it. so we must sit with a giving & grateful attitude and things will come to us.

    Thanks a lot

Really love this message Donna and I don’t think we can ever have enough reminders about focusing on the things that really matter in life.

Got a little confused with your comment about pictures … “I am starting to put up my own pics because heard a rumor that Google is not going to like pictures that are not purchased.” Sounds like the point is Google may take issus with images that are NOT purchased, right? Because if they ever took issue with images that ARE purchased, most of the websites in the world would be in dire straights – not to mention all the stock photo companies – that would be a pretty spectacular stand.

      Thanks Marquita.

As for the comment pictures, Mine are 99% bought. But if that company goes down or offline, my pics can go too. It has happened to me with one company that’s why I mentioned it. The unpaid ones will definately get tossed eventually. This is why I’m playing it safe and taking my own pics.

Thanks Donna for this article! Before attracting abundance in our lives we need to know deep in ourselves that we deserve it and that we don’t fear of being rich or feel guilty about it.
Sometimes we THINK we are in a prosperity mindset without asking ourselves how would lots of money and riches would make us fee emotionally. We attract what we are what we feel more than what we do;)
I love what you say about giving this is the right way to shift our energy to receiving more;)

    • Donna Merrill February 3, 2012 at 9:56 pm #

      Excellent point Patricia,
We have to know that we do deserve whatever we require. And yes, some people do have that fear of bing rich because they are guilty about it. That is an issue one needs to address before doing this exercise sometimes. It depends on the “openess” of the person.

      Thanks, Patricia,

This is a really interesting way of thinking about suff an a really interesting approach to work, I think if I could put myself into this mindset I would not feel as much of a wage slave when the alarm goes off on monday morning. At the moment I am in a job I dont really like but I need to pay off some debts, its a little soul destroying unless I can dflip into a mindset that will change the way I think about making money.

    • Donna Merrill February 3, 2012 at 9:53 pm #

Keep on working on it Annie. Sometimes we need that “job” to pay the bills, but create a “back door” for yourself by creating your business. Also, we do have to pay attention to our bills and the “amounts” we need to pay for it. But visualizing a much more creative flow will give you more that you can ever dream.

    Hi Donna

I love your video and writings! We are definitely aligned in our thinking and philosophies!

I have found wealth in my spiritual walk more than any other part of my life! It has become an integral part of my daily life and has enriched me beyond words. Of course I am also on path to create financial prosperity for my family. The truth is that I had huge financial prosperity before in my life ( 100% self-made) but I didn’t have spiritual wealth and I believe I allowed myself to lose the money due to lack of spiritual values. I gave most of it to unscrupulous people who persuaded me to part with it, I have always been a giver! I don’t think that was God’s plan when He entrusted me with resources. As I now know, when much is given, much is expected.

    be blessed,

    Clare

    • Donna Merrill February 2, 2012 at 12:46 am #

      What a great story Clare!
If we are not spiritually connected in some way, we tend to live our lives very small. We cannot see the forest behind the tree. Once we reach a spiritual level and live our lives by being a go-giving person, everything starts connecting.
I love your story…Can you make a blog post someday? It will have a great impact on people.

    Hi Donna,

    Great points in this post!

I think it’s important to consider the why behind our actions always. In life, this has proven to me to be an essential key in my own self-discovery process. I think that asking this question of the self opens the doors that ordinarily keep one from self-reflecting.

I think you hit an astute point in saying that money is a currency but prosperity is a mindset.

When we can understand our “temperature” at any given moment, I think we create a more hospitable arena to delve deeper into the reasons behind the why and also orient ourselves better into the frequency of abundance mindset. This must all come from an authentic place within for it to translate into our physical reality. When we are able to understand our starting point better I think we have a better ground to calibrate our actions to correspond with the intention.

And like you said, it’s all mindset. When we recognize this and practice at it, we can flip the channel to the right frequency and enjoy the show! 😀

    Cat

    • Donna Merrill February 2, 2012 at 12:39 am #

Hey Cat, thanks so much for elaborating on this post. We are of the same school of thought. Yes, once we flip that channel and use our mindset (which may take some time for people to do) then we can attract more abundance than we ever expect.

Definitely…prosperity and wealth are not the same. I can agree with you that the more successful people I have seen online have done a lot more giving before even getting. By observing these people, we can learn from them and practice what they are doing.

What we can do to benefit others is a mindset that I think most of us have but we cloud it with the stress of our daily lives of reality. Taking time to stop, think and as you say Donna, change our mindset to not see money as success but as a benefit on how we can help others. I love your insight.

By the way, are those waterfalls near your home? What a beautiful scene, thank you for sharing!

      Hi Lynn,
Yes stress is a key issue here. When taking time every day to de-stress we can enhance our focus, our time management, etc. When having that mindset that we are working hard for a bigger plan than ourselves, all that stress of the bills to pay becomes less stressful.

And Yes, those waterfalls are two doors down from me. I am starting to put up my own pics because heard a rumor that Google is not going to like pictures that are not purchased. Most of mine are, but I can see already that some of them have disappeared. Just a heads up. I am carrying around my camera and taking pictures of things I see that might be good on a blog post.

This was a refreshing article. We do get caught up in “money mindset”. For me the truth of “the law of attraction” or karma or whatever you want to call it is that when you think expansively you appreciate more. So something that may not have been satisfying when you’re thinking narrowly (money=happiness) is suddenly new and good. Maybe nothing fundamentally changed but your attitude!

You got it Carol Lynn. I have the same outlook. It is that Law of Attraction. When we focus our passions for something we want to do to change a little bit of the world, we are not focusing on ourselves or that money mindset. Therefore, we open up a steady stream of possibilities.

    Awesome post Donna,

I have been to a number of Peak Potentials events and one of the things that surprised me was the speaker for the event talking about bending over to pick up any penny or piece of change he saw and say “Thank you, thank you, thank you, I’m a money magnet!” I’m not sure he always said that out loud or yelled it like he did from the stage…but it definitely made the impression on me that money is money and that if we can appreciate it, in any form and any amount, that will help to attract more.

I also loved what you said about seeing money as a means for greater contribution. A lot of times people think that poverty is a virtue without realizing all of the good that could be done in this world if more conscious people had a lot of money.
