Summertime Psychic Fun

This post was most recently updated on March 26th, 2014

Summertime Psychic FunIt’s vacation time!  Many people are traveling to new places.  For entertainment, a lot of them look for a psychic reading.  I’m sure you are familiar with those beach psychics.  Have you tried one out?

I dug up an old video I did just to give you some simple things to “watch out” for whether you are a “believer”, skeptic, or just want to have some fun.   Beware the con game!  I am a practicing psychic myself, so I’ve seen a lot in this business. I’ve met many psychics who have a con game going on that, rather than helping you, can really be quite destructive.  Yes, these psychics may actually be clairvoyant.  That doesn’t necessarily mean, though, that they won’t use it in a negative way to squeeze you for some cash. Here are just a couple of the most common “red flag” lines that should warn you to stay clear:   * “You have a black aura” Yikes.  This will probably lead to a “cleansing process” designed to rid you of the “black aura” for mega bucks.  Now you may say “phooey, I don’t believe in that”, but it just may stick in your subconscious mind.  You may trip over your shoe laces and chalk it up to the dreaded “black aura”.  Beware the “black aura” pitch.   *  “Readings, Five Dollars” What the heck does that mean?  Hook and bait my friends.  You will spend five minutes with this person, he or she may hit on some things that wow you.  After that, it costs more to find out the next thing, then more and more and more.  Trust me, you’re going be in the hole for a lot more than five bucks.

So, if you are the curious, the believer or the skeptic, when going for a psychic reading remember this.

First and foremost, ask how much it cost and how much time you will receive for that amount.  I myself went to a psychic a few months ago and asked the same question. The answer: “$75  and it will take as long as it takes”.  I knew this was a danger sign, but had a particular reason to go ahead with it anyway.  Well, as I suspected, I got rushed out after 10 minutes.  But not before she tried to talk me into paying even more to get “the full story”.  I was out the door.   Also, if you feel like a psychic is using a scare tactic like warning you that you should purchase something from them to make something negative go away… it’s a con job.  You don’t need to pay for that.  If they pressure or threaten you in any way, don’t be frightened.  If they insist you owe more money for their services, just leave.  What are they going to do?  Call the cops?  Good!  You can report them for improper or even illegal business practices.   The best way to get a reputable and professional psychic reading is by referral.    Talk to others who have had good experiences with readings they’ve had.  It’s the best place to start.  Maybe request a short session to see if you are comfortable with a particular psychic before moving on to a full reading.  At the very least, be wary of the warning signs of poor professional practice, and if you feel victimized in any way, just never engage that person for another consultation.   So, what do you think?  Have you had any good or bad experiences?  Want to share them here?  Or maybe you just don’t believe in it.  That’s fine too.  I would really like to know.       -Donna

    Wow Donna…

Where was I when you posted this? I started January 2013 and this post is August 2013. Haven’t I met you there somewhere in between?

Anyway, this post is pretty interesting! I’ve always been fond of psychology, I almost majored this in college but stirred in another path instead. While I have read so many psychology books, I have eventually led into parapsychology and telekinesis. You know we don’t even use 100% of our brain. We only use 10% right? Imagine if we use all of our brain I think we can move things from one place to the other.

You know I have never seen a Psychic in America. But I remember once when I was a young girl, back in the Philippines, there was this Psychic that grandma consulted me to. What she said about me came true.

I’m not sure, and I don’t remember much, if she used tarot cards or just regular cards to do her predictions. My grandmother asked her what was my future. And the lady said, “she will have misfortune 3x.” Grandma jump in her seat and said, “OMG…NO!!! God forbid…”

Mind you, I’m not even in my teens. I think I was at the age between 10-12 years old. And I wasn’t premeditating on what she told me either. Remember I was only a kid. Misfortunes are way beyond my head when all I wanted to do was just play and have fun with my friends.

Anyway, this tragedy happened after I came to America. I won’t say the tragedy in details since it is very personal. And this is public but I didn’t even give this a single thought until after it happened. I remembered what she said to me.

Let’s just say my life in America as a young teenager wasn’t very easy, it was very hard and there were lots of unfortunate moments. If there is someone who’s gone to hell, that was me. I went thru the gates of hell…to a point I have tried to take my own life.

Will I go to a psychic on my own? Now that I’m grown up…I don’t think so. I don’t know if I really believe in psychic now. Does it really exist? I’m not sure. Maybe yes. Maybe no. Maybe what she said to me was plain coincidence. * shrug*

Who can predict the future? Only God. I don’t think I wanna know my future, my death, my misfortune, whatsoever. I think ignorance is bliss.

      Wow Angela,

How did you dig up this old post? he he he

Many people do not want to know what is in store for them. But I was born with this, and it is a blessing and a curse….

Anyway. Whenever I give someone a reading, it is not negative at all. Not unless I can jump in and avoid a situation.

I always can see the variables one could take because they have free choice and do create their own destiny. With that being said, I see many “flashes” in my mind and tell them if you do this….that can happen. If you do that…..that can happen.

Choice always comes first. I never look into death because after studying parapsychology and quantum mechanics, it can have an effect on the person we focus on. Besides that’s not a part of my job.

Misfortunes? We all have them. But, because you were young at the time you heard this, it stuck in your subconscious. Now can that be a self fulfilling prophecy, or just what life has thrown at you?

Negative things do happen to us, but that’s not the point of what I do. Helping people make decisions in their life, somewhat like a therapist is how I do use my ESP.

Blessing and curse…yep…I do get woken up at night “seeing” things that eventually come to pass but I have no control over it.

The one thing I love to do is to find missing children and the “bad guys” Now that is something I do get called up on and can never charge for that. It is my obligation.

I do believe that everyone is “psychic” to an extent. It is our gut feeling, our intuition. I is part of us. Some have it very strong, some even ignore it. So yes, it does exist.

      Hope this clarifies it!

        Hi Donna,

I do believe in intuition. I think God-given privelege that we are the master of our own domain. When that lady told me about this “misfortune” I’m not so sure I have translated this right from Tagalog-English. She said to my grandma, “Madidis-grasya sya tatlong beses.” Now, the word “disgrasya” means “misfortune” in English. I’m not sure there is really a perfect match word for it. The lady said, “She will have ‘disgrasya’ 3x.”

I’m not sure if this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Remember I said I have forgotten about this until after it happened I remembered what she said. Maybe that’s what she meant when THIS happened to me because I have had that tragedy 3x in my life.

Now back to intuition. I have this sometime. Like for instance, when I’m thinking about someone…and this someone calls me…I’d say, “I was just thinking about you and now you’re here calling me.” To me, that is intuition.

There are some dreams back then that happened in real life. Not a biggy. It’s something like, I would see an Uncle visited our home in my dream, then the next day he’s there visiting us. That kinda of things. I don’t believe all dreams are enterpretable.

Only God can enterpret dreams, right?

But sometimes me and my daughter check the dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary when we keep dreaming the same thing. Hubby said, that’s not real. How can I rely on one man’s enterpretation? Only God can enterpret dreams. Like what happened to Joseph in the bible, he was gifted by God for enterpreting dreams. Like Daniel in the bible, he was also gifted by God for enterpreting dreams.

…and so if you think you have that GIFT of clairvoyance…perhaps it’s true. It’s something you can’t control and this is a God-given opportunity for you.

It would be scary (to me) if I have this clairvoyance and I can see the future and the future isn’t good…I would be petrified what’s ahead of me, wouldn’t you?

        anyway…thanks for talking to me.

        xoxo

          Hi Angela,

I was just born this way. As a child, my parents were terrified when I said something and it came true. I just thought everyone was like me. We went to church and the priest told me to never ever speak of these things again. I wasn’t afraid. I remember at the ripe old age of 7 when this happened, I did not want to hurt my parents so I kept my mouth shut. And I didn’t want to offend the priest either.

Long story short, when the energy inside me burst, a things were moving in my house. I didn’t want to believe I was doing this, so after a long search of people telling me their take, I had the ASPR Association of Psychical Research in NY come to my house. I should write a book lol. It was determined scientifically that I couldn’t contain this energy. I just felt like a freak, and through science, I realized I could come out of my intuitive “closet” lol.

I had to learn how to switch this stuff off! I also spend years studying psychology, parapsychology just for my own sake because I felt like a weirdo. I didn’t want to be a “side show” carni.

I did however, talk to my priest, to monks..etc. I didn’t want to go against my faith in God. It was a very hard time for me.

As for dreams: Only you can determine your dreams. When I had a radio show, I interviewed a psychologist that wrote some book about dreams. To make a long story short, in my experience of studying this, there is no one person that could ever tell you what your dreams mean.

In short, your dreams are your subconscious talking to you. If it is a scary one, and wakes you up…its a good thing sometimes because you will be facing an inner fear in an abstract way. Totally normal stuff of how our brain works.

You also mention that sometimes the phone rings and you were just thinking of that person…call it intuition or whatever, it is a normal part of the human condition.

I’m not scared because of my strong faith in God. Before I talk to anyone who needs some direction, I do ask God to guide me. You should see my office lol. Full of many different Catholic statues of saints I pray to to intercede to God for me. And of course, many different Jesus crosses, and pictures. I am a devout Catholic and that always comes first in my life.

Does this all go against my church? No, as long as I do not tell people to believe in me which I would never do anyway. So much so, that sometimes I do try to get the people I talk to to get back to their religion, or belief in God. That is one of the missions I carry.

Yes, sometimes things are scary Angela. Especially the more I pray, the more those “demons” try to wake me and my husband up at 3 a.m. But I fear not and say “In the name of Jesus be gone” They go away.

With God on my side I know so well that whatever may frighten me He holds me up.

Did God give this to me? Who knows. All I do know is that I was born with it and as long as I keep my faith and ask God to come to me and help those in need, it works out fine.

My response: From that statement you said above, it reminds me of that movie – X Men – have you seen this movie? I know this is just science fiction but each of these people were born with POWER. Cognito was born to control magnets. Wolverine was born with strong sense of smell. Etc. I think we are able to MOVE things if we use 100% of our brain. Right now, this is abnormal because nobody has this kind of power. But I really believe that this is possible somehow.

When you said the demons bothered you at 3 am sometime and then you called the name of “Jesus”…the name “Jesus” alone is a very powerful name. That’s why God said, “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” We shouldn’t say “Jesus” just for the heck of it and include his name on some non-sense, because it means “SAVIOR” and that’s why every time you call His name you are SAVED.

Thanks for sharing, Donna. I really enjoy this conversation.

      Hi Nile.

Every psychic has different price points. I find that the ones that charge hundreds of dollars do not run a successful business, nor is it worth it!

What is really involved in a reading is helping a client get a clear direction to where they want to go in a certain situation.

I always tell my clients I’m like a map. I can see the future but in many ways because there are variables in life. If you choose this road…this will happen, If you choose another…this will happen. I do that because I firmly believe that destiny is created by oneself.

Oy, it’s definitely a challenge knowing when you’ve happened on a professional psychic. Luckily the woman I go to is so spiritual and trustworthy. And how did I find her? By referral, as you say is the best way! Thank you for these tips and warnings. I’ll be sure to be careful.

I also must say that I am in awe and admiration for your talent. It must be so enlightening and beautiful to have such insight.

    Warm regards,

Referral is the best way to find a trustworthy psychic. I am so happy for you that you did and have had a good experience.

As for me, it is just who I am. It was very difficult growing up, but as I matured, I did accept the fact that I had to do it! And I love helping folks.

Oh I never stopped. I am on a roll with that business for a very long time and enjoy it.

I like to warn folks not to be “trapped” into ones that are rip-offs.

My clients do get peace of mind at the end of their readings. I have a fixed price for time spent and that’s that. Some people tell you a price and you are out of there in five minutes! Yikes! I’ve had that experience and I wouldn’t want anyone to go through that.

Fascinating Donna. I have never paid to go to a psychic and can’t imagine I ever will, that said, I have met a couple of people who had impressive psychic ability that I witnessed firsthand. So I do believe it’s for real, I’m just not one of those who is so anxious about my future that I need someone, particularly a stranger, to give me a sneak peek. I have no doubt my tendency to be a control freak has something to do with that. 🙂

    Hi Donna,

Now this is really interesting! 🙂 I wish if I could get a read from you!

We have many so-called “Psychic readers” here, but it’s very rare to find one who is very impressive. You are right. Referrals is the best way to go and here elders follow the same rule too. Some elders do visit them.

I’ve never did one so far, but wanted to do once. Anyway I missed it. Actually, it’s not that I’m desperate enough to know what’s coming or all that, but I love to hear things out 🙂 I feel that’s really interesting.

I don’t rely on such stuff and don’t like the fact that people trying to justify things with these readings. Anyway the popular psychics here doing it really well and people often talk how amazing they are. Based on their experiences, most readings were true enough.

I know some folks take it too serious whether it’s right or wrong. Ugh… Sometimes loved ones have to pay ’cause of psychic readings. I hate that. In such scenarios, I feel how dumb people can be.

For me, first and foremost is my own psychic reader ~ Intuition. I believe it so much. I can totally rely on that. Isn’t it Donna? 😉

You have a lovely weekend dear 🙂

    Cheers…

      Hi Mayura!

When you rely on your intuition, you really do not need psychic advice. Because this has been my business for years, it is sort of therapeutic instead of “giving people the answer” because I do believe they have that answer and it is my job to lead them to it.

There are many out there that will steer you the wrong way. I go crazy when someone does that!

And yes, some people take it too serious. Those are the ones that I do not accept as clients. lol!

I will never use a psychic again. I was told that my husband was going to die very young. I am happy to say that did not happen and he is now 70. Many times psychics tell you things that you may want to believe and you will program it in whether good or bad. There are many psychics that can read your mind and play off of it.

Sounds like this psychic was using a bait and hook to me. When a Psychic talks about death, it is a No No!

I explained it in Corina’s comment. What a terrible experience that must have been for you.

This is why I wrote this post. There are too many so called psychics out there looking for money or saying any old darn thing.

And yes, there are many that can sort of read your mind or body language and they do play off of that. Grrr that makes me so mad.

    Hi Donna,

I’ve been meaning to stop by and read your post because I was so curious about this and yay, I’m so glad I did.

I had a reading a very long time ago and it was a good experience. The one thing I learned was I had to read between the lines. I remember he told me “in 1998 you’ll have money” Well, that was the year I got my job at ATT with good pay so he was right about that.

He also told me “don’t worry, you will lose weight” and I have :). The one thing I didn’t want to hear was the year of my death. He told me he could tell me but I couldn’t go through with it. :).

Thanks for sharing these tips with us. I had a feeling about those $5 readings…Hope you’re having a great week!

      Hi Corina,

The one thing I never ever do is talk about death! In my studies of parapsychology, psychology and quantum physics I have learned that we can have an influence on this topic. Either by the subconscious mind or energy ways. It is a long and boring story when it comes to quantum physics, but all I know is that it does have an effect.

NO ONE should EVER touch that subject. But hey, I’m not God, just a gal who has done her homework.

    Hi Donna,

Yes, you’re a great psychic. You are not one of those thieves that just tells lies, lies, lies, while they take your money.

I’ve consulted with a psychic once in my life in Paris. She was a famous one, but her reading was awful. I had the strong feeling that I wasn’t important and all the BS she told me never happened. One of the things that never happened is that she told me I would have two curly hair children. Duh!!! not going to happen 🙂 She was very expensive too. It was one of the worst money wasting I’ve done.

Thanks for clarifying what a real psychic is.

Yes, that happens quite often. I had several clients that have seen a famous TV psychic (I won’t mention names) and spent hundreds of dollars. They were disappointed.

When they each came back to me, they told me I should be on TV…NOT!

I did it once and hated it! The TV station edited me so much it was not what I said at all.

I just was on come cable TV shows and also radio which I liked the most.

But…I digress….Thank you for your wonderful input!

I’ve only paid for two readings Donna and the first one was at one of those Physic Fairs. I went with a friend who was also a Physic so she recommended it although I was really going for my Mom. When the lady read my Mom I knew she was full of bull right from the start and so did Mom. It was more like a $10 or $15 reading, I don’t even remember now because it was about four years ago.

The second one was a guy that again, my friend recommended. He charged $75 I believe for an hour and he was okay I guess. I didn’t really have any earth shattering things to ask but none of what he predicted has come true. As my friend said, things can change Adrienne. Yeah, whatever!

The rest of my readings have been from people that I know that have this gift that have really volunteered to read me, I never asked them to. It’s been a good experience but I haven’t had to know anything earth shattering so I guess they’ve been okay.

I now have two close friends that are Physic and have been doing this a very very very long time and yes, you’re one of them. I’ve called for help on an occasion and luckily you both have been so generous with your time. It’s been more of a crisis issue and you’ve both been so extremely helpful to me so thank you for that young lady.

I think this is something everyone should experience but they definitely should go to someone that’s recommended. You definitely want it to be a cool wonderful time and not walk away regretting it.

      Hi Adrienne,

You said it in a nutshell….People should go to someone that is recommended.

If you were looking for a doctor, a dog trainer, or anyone else, wouldn’t you ask around? Of course! Same goes with a psychic.

Actually, When I get those people who want “the answer” and I try to explain to them how it doesn’t work that way because it is up to them to decide which path to take, I usually farm them off to a “Tarot Reader” who is kind and honest, but will work with them that way.

I just hate to see them get ripped off by someone who will scam them.

      Thanks for you awesome input,

    Hi Donna!

I’ve always been intrigued by psychics. Back in my 30\\\’s, an older friend of mine convinced me to go see your psychic friend with her. My friend had been seeing this psychic for years and said she was very accurate, down to the fact that her husband was battling cancer and she would as well. Yes, it happened. My friend found out she had melanoma and the two, husband and wife, battled cancer together. So sad to watch your friend pass that way. Anyway, so I went and I met with the psychic. Before asking anything about me, she grabbed my hand and met with silence. She then proceeded to tell me very personal things that no one knew. Only me, my mother, my father, and brother. She blew my mind! She then proceeded to let me know about a job change, which happened that very month. I asked vague question, will I get married. YES she said, twice. Well so far it\\\’s only been one. 😉 I asked her if I would have kids. She said yes. Maybe I should have asked would I bear children, which is what I really wanted. But my hubs does have a child so maybe thats what she picked up on. She also told me a few other things which make sense to this date. So I can say she was a fake, cause gosh, how did she go into detail about these personal things no one knew? Creeped me out at first! Anyway, there are a bunch of scammers out there and one right down the road from my house. Mysteriously, the house burned down. Too much mojo up in that house! :)Interesting that I didn\\\’t know this about you but I\\\’m glad I do know. You\\\’re a deep person Donna and one I\\\’m glad to have met. 🙂

      Hi Bren,

Glad you had a good experience! I went to a psychic years ago and she told me I would have 4 children…What? Well, I have one biological child and when I married David he has 3.

I once told a gal she will have 3 kids. She told me I was nuts. A year or so later, she wanted me to come to her house and host a psychic party. There I met her triplets. Go figure!

Most of the time psychics don’t have exact timing and the other things that she had told you may still come to pass OR you decided to take a different road. Variables do exist!

As for those scammers down the road from you….Yikes Karma is a funny thing isn’t it.

    Hi Donna,

I do believe there is psychic ability called clarvoyance. However, real clarvoyance is rare. Most of these people are just con artists. Sometimes even worse.
There are people with really psychic abilities but a low moral level. They can use a kind of hypnotic power to take your money. Before you know it they take you everything you have and when you wake up you are far away on an unknown street without cash, without credit card, without your car etc.
You must thank God you still have your clothes on you.
I never go to a psychic reading.

One more thing. What is the use of a psychic reading? Find out what future holds for you? What if they tell you something very negative, very bad? As you said : “it just may stick into your subconscious mind”. When this happens you have an auto-fulfilling prophecy effect unfolding before your own eyes. It is very dangerous.

    Have a nice day

      Hi Silviu,

Yes there are many people out there that will take you for all you have. The con game they play is terrible. I’ve helped bust a few of them in my time.

As for clarvoyance, I was born with it. It is a long story, but I did have trouble with it. It was not until I learned the scientific reasoning behind it that I allowed myself to work with it.

You ask what’s the use of a psychic reading? Well that depends on the psychic and the client. First of all, there is no time or space when going through the future. There are variables. It can be dangerous if a Psychic tells you something will happen either positive or negative at a certain time. That will turn out to be a self fulfilling prophecy and we then cannot prove that it was true.

An ethical psychic will explain things like a map. Giving you different roads to choose because You are the master of your own destiny. It is not a cut and dry situation, but rather one that gives the client an opportunity to take charge of their life.

Thanks for your input, I just love to know the pros and cons of this subject.

      Hi Tonya,

I love those sunflowers too! That video was taken a while ago and I just had to remind people of some do’s and don’ts when they are messing around with psychics.

    Hi Donna

I have done exactly this – been to see a psychic on holiday. I have always done it on the spur of the moment and been attracted to the person I saw. They have always been positive and pretty well spot on.

That is terrible some of what you shared on your video! And by the way I love your video.

I just learned some new things about you too – quantum maths – wow!

In the most though I have seen psychics that have been recommended when I am not on vacation.

The police in Australia do bring in psychics to help on murder cases.

    A great message Donna.

      Hi Sue,

I’m sure glad you had good experiences. I too have worked with law enforcement and some pretty big cases. What I love the most is catching the bad guy he he.

I also love it when I can find lost children. I found 3 so far in my career and was thrilled to be part of it.

People call me when they loose their pets too. I found some, and they were reunited.

      My job is fun!

I’ve only had wonderful psychic readings, and I’m very thankful for that. All three times was in Cassadaga, Florida, which is known as a psychic community, so I trusted the area. A person should use their own intuition when meeting a psychic. If it seems out of place, get out of there. If you feel calm and comforted, it’s probably going to be a good experience. I love your information Donna.

      Hi Keri,

You hit the nail on the head. Yes a person has to trust their own intuition when going to a psychic. If you don’t feel comfortable…run out!

I am so glad to hear you had good experiences. As a psychic, I kind of a “watch dog” when it comes to those who abuse it.

    Hi Donna,

Oh yes…we have a lot of such funny kind of psychic readers our end and most of them aren’t genuine at all. These people are mainly the ones who tell you about your past, present, or future, or your relationships, depending on what you want to ask them. They are just there to make money by playing with people’s emotions half the time.

I really don’t believe in psychic reading’s, or perhaps haven’t really come around meeting anyone who’s really told me something real come out of it. But just for the heck of it we once visited one such person who told us a little of our past that was somewhat true, but wanted more money to give us details about the future. But did we really want to know that – that’s what my hubby and myself thought, and just let it go there itself.

I guess once you get to know more than you need to know, you tend to get biased or tend to think on that path, which can negatively affect you too at times. What has to happen will happen, so why really try ways and means (that may be right or wrong) to get to know of it all much earlier. But I do know a lot of people DO believe in psychic reading’s and would start their work or projects only once it’s approved by these people. It depends a lot from person to person I feel.

Thanks foe sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

      Hi Harleena,

There are a lot of phony ones out there. I’ve been doing psychic readings for many decades. But I also have a degree in psychology and studied parapsychology.

As a psychic, I can see future opportunities..BUT..when a client comes to me for The Answer, I tell them the answer lies within.

I consider myself as a map. I can see images of the future on one road, and images on another, therefore, the client MUST choose for themselves what road to take.

When seeing a Psychic and they tell you “This will happen in three days” It will because it will be a self fulfilling prophecy.

I do believe we all have this sixth sense. It is a choice if we want to listen to it or not.

      Thank you for contributing.
