How to Turn Facebook Live into a Sizzling Marketing Tool

This post was most recently updated on June 15th, 2018

How To Turn Facebook Live Into a Sizzling Marketing ToolYou’ve heard of it, but you probably don’t know exactly How to Turn Facebook Live into a Sizzling Marketing Tool.

Am I right?

That’s because you probably thought that live streaming was just for the pros.

But it’s not.

You probably thought that you had to be a smooth speaker or persuasive presenter.

But you don’t.

It’s not for people who are technologically challenged, though… right?

Wrong!

And you might have thought that only people with big followings or raving, avid audiences should even try this.

That’s not true either.

Who is Facebook Live for?

Anyone who is trying to get noticed in the world should be exploring the ways they can turn Facebook Live into a sizzling marketing tool.

Notice, I didn’t say “anyone working online.”

No, no.

That’s because Facebook Live can be used very effectively for anyone with a business, a professional practice or a message.

Do those people also have an online presence?

Maybe.

But maybe not.

Turn Facebook Live into a Sizzling Marketing Tool

You see, even if you don’t use a computer (what?), you can simply grab your phone and start building an audience.

Got something to sell?

Want to share your viewpoint or mission with people?

Trying to get new customers to your cafe?

Want to be a star?

Need to get people to your blog?

Trying to build an email list?

I think you get it, now.

You can easily learn how to turn Facebook Live into a sizzling marketing tool for whatever you are trying to do.

Here’s Where To Begin

Step 1.

Develop a core message.

Know what it is that you want to tell people about.

If you’re an affiliate marketer, for example, then you want to address the needs of people in your niche.

These are the same people who will want to buy the things you are selling.

Build Trust Through Facebook Live

Determine what problems or challenges your audience has.

Let’s say your niche is home care for aging adults, for example.

Maybe you have a blog in that niche.

Or you might provide that type of service to people in your city.

One issue facing people in your audience might be “can I get paid to care for my aging parents.”

Use a Facebook Live session to address that issue.

Or create a series of sessions on that topic.

Integrate your core message into your presentations, and invite people to connect with you.

That might be on your blog, on your Facebook page, by calling you, emailing you or whatever.

Facebook Live gives you an opportunity to show people how you can solve their problems.

When people see you can help them solve their problems, they begin to trust you.

Then they begin to look for more ways to connect with you.

Build An Audience with Facebook Live

But what if you don’t have an audience?

What if nobody is following you on your blog or on social media?

Is there any point in doing Facebook Live streams?

The funny thing is, this is backwards thinking.

You don’t need to have an audience to start doing Facebook Live streams.

You start doing Facebook Live streams in order to get an audience.

The more you use it, you see…

the bigger your following gets.

Facebook Live helps you build an audience, so don’t worry if you don’t have one to begin with.

How Do You Get People To Attend Your Facebook Live Streams?

You take advantage of Facebook itself.

Did you know that Facebook is aggressively promoting it’s live stream feature?

Mark Zuckerberg has indicated that he believe that live stream is the future, not only of Facebook, but of the entire internet.

And Facebook Live makes that future happen right now.

So it’s not surprising that when you do Facebook Live sessions, Facebook gives them a great boost.

A Facebook Live session is given far greater reach than anything else you do on the platform.

This even includes regular recorded video, and we all know how powerful even those are.

In other words, Facebook wants you to live stream, and they will reward you greatly when you do.

This is a pretty big deal when you consider how difficult Facebook has made it to reach your target audience unless you are paying for ads.

So when you do a Facebook Live, it’s not difficult to build an audience when you do it strategically.

How Do You Use Facebook Live to Market Your Products and Services for Profit?

People see me doing my own Facebook Live presentations all the time.

So as you can imagine, this is a question that I get asked pretty often.

So often, in fact, that I decided to conduct a Challenge workshop to help you see exactly how to do Facebook Live in your business.

But not only to learn how to “do” live stream sessions.

More than that… this Challenge workshop is structured to show you how to profit from them.

So, I will be showing you exactly how to build your own “FB Live Stream Profits.”

Well done on your Facebook Sizzling showcasing dispatch. I watch and check your Facebook live recordings and they are very educational and simple to process. Facebook is a major stage to focus on a huge client base and associate with your group of spectators.

    Hey Donna,

Really amazing post, Facebook is getting harder and harder. I have over 5k like on one of my page and engagement is really bad. All the like I have are either organic or boost.

it is fascinating how facebook has evolved over the years and it is going to continue to change in the coming years, but what is questionable is its relevance but i am sure it can be used as a monster marketing strategy for now but not sure about the future considering how things are shaping up for facebook but i will keep my fingers crossed

    Hi! Donna

This is a good strategy that you have shared here.
May I ask a question How can promote any products or services while I’m live streaming on Facebook.

    I’m waiting for your reply.
    Thanks!

    • Donna Merrill June 24, 2018 at 5:45 pm #

      Hi Binod,

To make a long story short, you can promote your products and services while live streaming in many ways. Take a portion of the product and talk about it. What I mean by that is give some good information about said product without mentioning it. Then you can say something like “If you would like to learn more click the link below. Then in the comment section put a link to your product.

Facebook loves our live stream and also if you have a good audience that will contribute to the conversation that is even better! What you need to do always is think of the person you are selling to and solve a problem. Don’t give away the farm lol. For that they have to opt into your product.

      Hope this helps,

      Hi Janice,

I’m sure you will summon up the courage to try. It is scary when you first start but isn’t everything? I talk a lot about mindset to get clients going. Then sketch out a plan of what you want people to go to. It can be back to your blog, to a product ….its endless.

The courage to start doing a Live Facebook doesn’t come easy. We have to gently step into it. If it is good for your business and/or the message you want to send out to others, then it becomes like our duty to do so. It is a great way to connect with people and you have so much to give. I have seen you on video and you are great! Just remember: The more you do, the better you get at it. Just like anything else!

      Hi Emenike,

You know that secret sauce! Running it like a webinar is fantastic because number one it is a free platform, and two: Many can be notified via Facebook. As long as we capture the webinar with something like screenflow, we can keep it for later use and re purpose.

    Hello Donna,

I was just thinking and doing some research on this yesterday actually. I believe the new age blogs will be live video and of course recorded for later viewing. Of course there will be a time and a place for this. Some people will always love to read and that is how they learn and absorb information and even entertainment. Some people would rather stay home and read a good book than choose to go to a live show in a crowded theater Even though it may be the very play they are reading.
It is a whole audience that we as bloggers can potentially bring into our blogging world. A whole new source of customers who may not even know what we as bloggers have to offer in there lives. Some customers find us because they are looking for a solution to a problem they may have when some customers may just be discovering something they never thought to look for to begin with. If you told me three months ago I would be blogging I would have said your crazy.
Two days ago I just started messing around with some silly video with me just alone with my phone and after a few times I started to feel more and more natural about doing it. And I was surprised I was ready to post these videos up on my blog thinking this could be my way to reach people better and more naturally than writing. Which obviously is not my strong point.
You never know till you try!
I can’t wait to do my first Facebook Live and lucky for me I have no followers yet so no one will see any way at first. Thank you Donna for opening a door for us.

    Talk soon,

    Cody

    • Donna Merrill June 16, 2018 at 9:45 am #

      Hi Cody,

Everyone learns differently. Some like to hear, some like to see and some like to read. This is why in my upsell to this product I have both video and PDF because of that!

It is nice to know you are stepping out and doing your own videos. The more you do them the easier it becomes. Just like anything else. Have fun with it and make sure you have a plan….there has got to be a “method to our madness” lol.

    Donna,

I have noticed from a viewer’s standpoint that Facebook is promoting live video more and more. Between you and Ryan, your FB lives are almost always in my news feed. Even ones that are a few days old, like if it was just a picture or a usual post, don’t drop off as fast. I’ve done them in the past, and now I’m wondering about doing them in the future again. Writing is more MY style, but that may not be my reader/client style. It’s really good food for thought; thank you! ~ Johanna

    • Donna Merrill June 13, 2018 at 2:12 pm #

      Hi Johanna,

Facebook is surely promoting live videos more and more. This is why it is so important to “jump on the bandwagon” at this time to get a better reach to others. Glad you have received some food for thought. Even though writing is your thing…a little bit of FB Live about what you wrote will enhance the article.

    Hey Donna,

Indeed a great post. You have very well said that how important live streaming is. Facebook gives an extensive opportunity in order to communicate with your audience with the purpose of promoting the products and services. To be honest, I don’t read long posts on Facebook, no doubt they are informative but sometimes getting boring.
On the other hand Live streaming is great, but it isn’t easy at it seems especially for the shy kind of people who don’t like cameras and all. you gave the best solution to those peoples. I really enjoy your videos on Facebook Donna, how amazingly you interact with your friends are really appreciated.

    Interesting read, Donna.

It sure is nice having both me and David as coaches. Don’t have to start ASAP. Everything is at your own pace. There are 7 hours of videos and also PDF’s for each one so you can do it at your own pace. The price is low now and will go up after launch.

    • Donna Merrill June 11, 2018 at 2:46 pm #

      Hi Monna,

Indeed, figure out a plan of action and do your videos on that topic. I don’t have to tell you not to push push push because you are always a giving person. Stay on the topic you want to eventually pitch and give all the benefits. Do so in small FB Live videos. i.e. “Did you ever want to have a journal that was made just for you?” Give benefits. Then after that blast out that you sell them. 🙂

      -Donna

P.S. I did get on of your journals and will give it out as a gift for my daughter. It is so lovely I know it will give her a lift.

Facebook live is for everyone, but only a few people take benefit of that. The big reason why most are lacking the effective live performance is the lack of enthusiasm. Some people go live for the sake to create live videos.
