But first, let me tell you just a bit more about how to develop your unique voice.
Find Your Unique Voice
It’s just so important that you find your unique voice as a blogger.
I mean, everyone talks about the same things, don’t they?
One of the mistakes I see bloggers make is trying to be totally unique.
But really, good blogging is just about finding your own unique voice and sharing it.

at Shout Me Loud (by Harsh Agrawal)
So what is your Unique Voice?
And how do you find your Unique Voice?
Well, here’s the thing.
People ask me how they can “develop” their unique voice.
I always tell them that they first need to “find” it.
You see, you already have your unique voice.
It’s there!
Somewhere inside of you.
Your job it not to create it, but to discover it.
And that comes by being yourself.
That’s all.
Just be yourself.
I guess the word is “authentic.”
But I just say you need to get into your groove.
That special place where you feel like yourself.
In order to do that, you’ve got to be comfortable being yourself.
That requires a certain level of confidence.

So to find your voice, you need to explore who you really are.
And what you want to share of yourself as a blogger.
Then embrace that.
Now, I know you just want to find a way to rise to the top and be a pro blogger, right?
It’s understandable.
You’re just looking for a way to have your voice heard above all the noise on the internet.
But before you put too much effort into getting your voice heard, take a little time to find your unique voice.
Not the voice you want to have… but the “truly you” voice that already lives somewhere deep inside of you.
Train Your Unique Voice
Now, once you’ve found your voice, you know it takes a bit of polishing up in order to go public with it.
It’s like a singer.
Maybe she has a beautiful “natural voice.”
But she still does voice training, right?
In fact, she probably does it throughout here entire career.
That’s because your “natural voice”… the one you discover inside of yourself… is not perfect.
It’s like a diamond in the rough.
Once you’ve dug it out of the ground, you have to cut it very precisely to reveal it’s beauty and dimension.
Then you need to polish it up to make it marketable.
Multiple Unique Voices
But you can’t be a pro blogger with just a single voice.
Just like a singer doesn’t always sing in the same key, or with the same tone and inflection… your blogging voice must also adapt to different situations.
It can’t always be an exciting or inspirational voice.
Sometimes it needs to be ordinary, maybe even mundane.

Yes, You Can Improve Your Copywriting
at Grow Map (by Deborah Anderson)
Properly training your voice, and refining it’s pitch and tone to adapt to many situations, will give you character and distinction.
And it will give you the confidence to be yourself, not somebody you might be trying to be.
Project Your Unique Voice
Having a beautiful, rich voice is of no value if you don’t project it.
People just won’t hear what you have to say if you whisper to yourself, or to a few close friends or family members.
You’ve got to find a stage.
Step into the spotlight.
Put some glitz into your game.
Maybe a good mic, a great outfit.
To be a top notch blogger that everyone tunes in to like they would their favorite pop singer, you have to “own” that stage.
Your audience is looking for confidence, personality and sincerity.
They want to listen to you if you are delivering something of value… something that will make their lives happier, more prosperous or better in any way.
So find the right platform to display your unique voice.
It could be Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or anything else.
Find creative and fun ways to project and amplify your unique voice to grow your audience.

Then, get down to the business of sharing that voice strategically.

How to Share Your Unique Voice to Write Popular Blog Posts
by Vishwajeet Kumar
Blogging today seems like an easy thing to do.
There are so many free platforms allowing you to start a blog.
Also, so many free designs, tools, and so on.
It seems that all you need to do to become a popular blogger is to start a blog and just write.
However, in reality, it’s not that easy.
We see so many new blogs starting every day.
And we see so many of them closing sooner or later.
If blogging was easy, this simply wouldn’t happen.
Why Bloggers Fail
But there’s a reason why only a few beginner bloggers manage to succeed.
This reason is quite obvious to the experienced blogger.
They cannot make contact with their audience.
Their writing does not captivate people.
And they find it a challenge to write blog posts that will be appreciated and shared.
Now, how can you change this?
How can you make your posts more interesting?
What does it take to catch the attention of your audience?
Create a captivating headline
The headline is the first thing a person sees when they stumble upon your blog post.
Moreover, a headline is often the only thing that can encourage a person to read your blog post.
These days, people get distracted very easily.
They see tons of articles everywhere.
But they only read a few of them.
That’s why it’s so important to make your blog post stand out with the help of a headline.
Don’t promise more than you deliver
However, you should be very careful.
You don’t want to overdo it.
I’ve seen so many tips encouraging people to simply create catchy and impressive headlines.
But that’s not enough.
What’s important is to not simply come up with such a headline, but also to make the rest of your post worth it.
If a headline is stunning, but an article doesn’t actually correspond to it, or doesn’t answer the question brought up in a headline… the readers will most likely feel disappointed and deceived.
Add a personal touch
Even if you are writing an educational article, this doesn’t mean that you have to make it formal and boring.
Don’t be shy to
- joke
- write less formally
- add some things from your personal experience
This will allow your audience to relate to you better.
And it will also make their reading more interesting.
Don’t be trivial
There should be some kind of balance in this case, too.
Try not to sound too informal (of course, only if it’s appropriate in your niche).
But at the same time, avoid writing just like everyone else around does.
You have to develop your own style and voice.
Speak more like a friend than a mentor.
But be sure to give substance and value to your readers.
Don’t write just because of money
Yes, most people start their blogs with the intention to monetize them later.
Some bloggers keep working toward this goal and writing from their heart.
Others, though, start overdoing it.
They try to monetize their blogs as soon as possible.
Now, I know that it’s quite an abstract thing.
But people can actually sense when you’re only doing this for money.
And sometimes they don’t even have to feel this.
For example, if your posts are full of keywords and promotions.
Use your Unique Voice to make an emotional connection
It’s okay to take your business seriously, and to work toward monetizing your blog.
But you have to understand that success in blogging depends mostly on the emotional connection you make with your audience.
That’s why the right attitude matters so much.
And that’s why you need to develop your own unique voice.
Write like you want to tell a story.
Share your emotions and beliefs along with good information.
People will appreciate it.
Moreover, when you approach blogging in this way… the whole writing process will seem much more interesting and entertaining to you.
Don’t forget about the details
Most of the tips I have given you here are about emotional attitude because it probably shapes your voice the most.
However, don’t forget that right attitude alone is not enough to write popular blog posts.
Even if you are sincere and write about things that inspire you, this doesn’t mean that you can stop learning and developing.
Writing popular blog posts comes from keeping in touch with your niche all the time.
You have to know how and what =other bloggers write=what trends are out there, and=what your audience wants.
This way it’ll be easy for you to =come up with interesting topics, =suggest some new ideas, =create fresh unique content, and =develop your own unique voice.
Those are all the things that will give you distinction from your competitors.
How to Share Your Unique Voice to Write Popular Blog Posts
As you see, successful blogging is a clever combination of strategy and passion.
You cannot write your blog posts based on strict rules.
It doesn’t work that way.
Your attitude, your sincerity and your desire to connect with the audience matter just as much as your skills and knowledge.
However, even if your blogging comes from the heart, you still should remember to keep in touch with your niche and things related to it.
Only, in this case, will you be able to become a successful blogger, to captivate and to inspire people with your unique voice.
I wish you good luck with that!

Hello Donna,
We all know the internet is now full of blogs with so many bloggers trying to dominate the blogosphere, expecting luck to smile on them soon so that they too will become popular soon.
It is very funny that the majority of these bloggers don’t even become what we can call a success and eventually abandon their blogs in a matter of months.
As bloggers, we must be able to be creative and come up with new ideas on our own. Great and successful bloggers don’t just follow the norm, they all have their own ideas, they are creative in one form or the other which is what leads to their success.
Many bloggers try to build traffic to their blog using only strategies like blog commenting, social bookmarking e.t.c.
Not that all these things don’t work anymore, they work quite effectively but are already saturated so in order to achieve success more easily you have to come up with something different.
Eventually, thanks for sharing you awesome experience with us.
With best wishes,
Amar Kumar
Unique voice is a must in writing. Adding to the article – I suggest simply keep writing. Doesn’t matter if it is bad, okay or great – don’t stop writing. In addition, read a lot, experience new things and open up your mind.
Slowly you will have better things to say, better structure to write in. And boom you might become good in maybe 3 years – one article at a time.
Persist.
Hi Donna and Vishwajeet!
No doubt finding your own unique voice, and effectively utilizing it are extremely important, both with text and with audio content.
I remember back to when I started blogging back at age 14, I almost felt like I was playing a character at times because I was trying to exhibit a voice that was not my own. It felt fake, and keeping the act up was difficult. I only did so because I was working with a number of larger companies at the time and was trying to mask my true age from them for fear of losing deals.
In the end just being yourself and using your authentic voice, letting your true personality shine through, is not only so much easier – it’s far more effective at building genuine connections with readers and listeners.
This is a great message, thank you for sharing it!

Thanks for sharing an outstanding blog post Donna & Vishwajeet!
Your points are very well taken indeed! And I love where you
articulated how, your unique voice is not created, as much as it’s
discovered.
Meaning, it’s already there. It just hasn’t been properly nurtured enough
to materialize.
It’s definitely a lot of positive points to process and implement over
time for sure.
Donna, after seeing your extremely kind and inspirational
words in my blogs comment section recently.
I knew you must have picked up my vibe coach!LOL!
Because in the last few days alone, I was thinking, I simply
have to make time, to get over here and do some
much needed studying!LOL!
And bam! Out of the blue, you’re leaving me another outstanding
comment on one of my recent blog posts!LOL!
So greatly appreciated! And thanks to both of you, for sharing such
an outstanding post!

Hi Donna,
When writing a new blog post, finding the unique voice is something that can help to leave an impression. Still, most of the bloggers struggle in finding unique ways to share the idea, solution or the story.
Research and personal touch will help bloggers to create helpful posts which boost engagement.
Thanks!

Hi Guarav
You’re right.
Bloggers have quite a challenge to develop their own unique voice.
But they don’t have to be superstars, only to reach out, like you say… with good research and by giving that personal touch.
It really helps to build a bond of trust with readers and with their audience.

Hi Donna and Vishwajeet, great advice here. I agree with Ryan to mix it up with humor sometimes. It works well as people get to know you better. They will know when you mean to make them laught or NOT. I’ve shared some personal experiences over the years like the death of my mom. It really changed my life and my blogging. Those types of things do make a difference and should be reflected in your work.
People want to to do business with people and not logos!
No better way than to showcase who you are with your unique voice at your blog. I hope you both have a great day!

You know what is really cool, Vishwajeet? Your advice to joke a bit. Bloggers become so serious and rigid, writing plan Jane, dull posts. Who is serious all the time, offline? Nobody….so….joke! Be funny. Add humor to posts, to stand out and to add your unique voice to all that you do. Excellent tips here.

Hey Donna! Hi Vishwajeet!
This is perfect timing as I have been contemplating a change on my own blog. Mixing business with personal was something that was not to be done, however, so many are doing it nowadays (like Ryan Biddulph) and are majorly successful! I think some of us were taught in the old days that we need to present a certain “aura” on our blogs. But if you look at some of the most successful business blogs (even outside the marketing niche), people are mixing it up! This is what I plan on doing! Finding that unique voice, which is generally your own personality, no?
I appreciate the read for sure! Thank you for confirming what I knew could be possible!
