The Inner Marketer Day 1

GratitudeThe Inner Marketer Day 1
What better way to start the new year with a new slate.  If you are an Internet Marketer or have your own business, you know that there are so many different parts to the “big machine” that you are accountable for.  You follow your guidelines to your financial goals, communicate with people, and even go the extra mile to attend events.  That’s your business mind in action where you are motivated to learn, to earn, to grow.

But what about your total mindset?

How can you breakthrough different things that may stop you in your path?  How can you overcome that subconscious mind that holds you back?  This is a part of you that needs to be addressed.  If you go full speed ahead with your business and not address things that are holding you back to limitless opportunities you may not recognize those little thoughts you get during the course of a day that prevent you from your maximum potential?

I call this The Inner Marketer

There are so many modalities to do this, but just doing one task at a time will make it simple for you to do.  Taking baby steps will help you achieve whatever it is that is blocking you.

The Inner Marketer Day 1 – Gratitude

Before we can attract anything into our lives we need to be grateful for what we already have.  It can be as grandiose as your wonderful home with all the bells and whistles.  It also can be your one room apartment, or a room at a friend’s home.  We have so much to be grateful for.

Running water, shelter, food, are some things we never give a second thought to, while millions of people on the planet do not have these things.
Our families, friends, children,

I have formed a habit of Gratitude.  Each morning, before I put my feet on the ground from my bed.  I think of what I’m grateful for.  I have been doing this for such a long time that sometimes the images are funny.  An example is one day I had an image of my forks and spoons.  “That’s odd” I thought to myself.  I laughed so hard with that image in my mind.  But then I realized that when I purchased them long ago, they were quite expensive, but I just loved the shape and feel of them, so I purchased them.  Funny right?  Never gave my fork a second thought for the past 10 years, but that day I appreciated what I had obtained.

So my friends, if you put this into motion and make it a habit in your life, you will notice how much you have and be grateful for.

Here’s my call to action:  Name one thing you are grateful for!

Blessings,
Donna

    Hi Donna,

I just bumped into your husband’s wonderful blog! This reminded me that I have not been to your blog for a while. What a wonderful idea to start a series with “Inner Marketer”.

I am starting to allow myself more ‘me time’ for gratitude thoughts. There are so many things and happenings that I can feel grateful for. Maybe it is a great routine to count our gratitude early in the morning like you do.

I love this quote of yours – “Taking baby steps will help you achieve whatever it is that is blocking you.” Very true! Just a tiny little step is better than taking no action at all.

    I appreciate you, Donna 🙂

      Hi Viola!

So good to hear that you are taking more time for yourself and time for Gratitude thoughts.

And yes, taking one tiny baby step is better than taking no action at all.

      Best wishes on that,

Donna, I remember my first read of one of your articles and it was on the same topic of Gratitude. I understand the importance of the right mind set when setting out to create. We are people with our own business and you are giving us the method that will support our mind, body and soul during the establishing and continued operation of our unique businesses.

I agree with a mental attitude must be balanced and have an attitude of gratitude always. If you are in the habit of being on who appreciated all that is give you have taken the first step to being aware of how little things grow. It must first start with being aware of your surroundings and what has been given to you.

Harmon and gratitude go hand and hand in our industry. You are giving us the methods right here and I am allowing my mind to stay open and review each article of this series. Knowing it can only sharpen my total awareness. Giving me more to serve others.

Thank you Donna for really opening up with us and supporting your readers with usable information.

      Thank you William,

I know you are so well aware on this topic. Harmony and gratitude do go hand and hand in our industry.

My one main goal in life is to life a peaceful life. So far so good, but there is always more to learn.

That is what I love about our industry, we give and receive all the time.

Hi Donna. Interesting! I actually put it in my cell phone on my calendar. to just say ‘Thank You.’ I get reminded 4 times a day, even if its a simple, ‘Thank you.’ You see it’s so busy and we are always in a mad rush to get somewhere so I had the idea of putting it in my phone to get constant reminders. I always felt I didn’t pray enough or say thank you enough so thank you for confirming what I’m doing.
    God Bless,
    Barbara

    • Donna.Merrill January 6, 2013 at 3:24 pm #

      Hey Barbara,

What a great way to remind yourself to do so. Spreading a simple Thank You to a person is God in action through you.

As for prayers, I find myself doing that all day long. I see some one on Facebook in need of something…I stop for a moment and pray for them. I can pass by someone on the street and notice a sadness projected from them, I pray.

Guess my life is one of constant prayer and gratitude. It’s a mindset that works for me. I have overcome many issues in my life and still have some of them. To me, prayer always works!

      Thanks Barbara,

Amen to that Donna. I know I always send up a silent prayer from all that going on in our private lives on FB. There are so many people in need and a silent prayer for someone is always easy. You do it at that moment. What I found, in our rush of things called life, is that I need to stop a moment and say thank you for myself, so I use my iphone to remind me. That way, when the day to day gets so crazy, and that iphone reminder goes off, it makes me for one second slow down, breathe and give thanks. It is becoming increasingly important to do so in this crazy world! 🙂 Prayer does work and I want to keep it working in my life.
        Take care and talk soon.

It is just a habit and I know how well those silent prayers work!

In this crazy world, with things turning upside down, we need to pray more. It is so great that you put it on your phone for daily reminders!

          Amen to that

    Hi Donna,
First of all congratulations on you taking part on this blog challenge!
Secondly thank you for reminding us the power of gratitude, this is one of the most powerful and easy ways to raise our vibration, unblock us from living in the past or in the future and manifest easily what we most love.
I am grateful to the events that I have attracted that are part of a bigger design to make me ” move” in a different country, a move that has been the result of letting go of the past and what I thought I could never create again.
Thanks for asking and sharing this great post!

      Hi Patricia!

Yes, gratitude does raise our vibration and unblocks us from living in the past or in the future. It is so true what you said, and also it does manifest things easily.

You have made a huge change in your life by moving to a different country.

I wish you all the peace and prosperity you deserve,

Wow. Great post, Donna! I am grateful that all of my children — my teens and my grown children — all live nearby and love to spend time with each other and with us, their parents. I am also grateful that we live out in the country, half a mile from our nearest neighbour, where the snow stays white all winter and the birds and wild animals come to visit. ~ Willena

    Hi Donna,

taking baby steps, as you suggest, makes perfect sense.

A friend of mine said a few years ago that success builds on success.

So, if we would apply that to being successful at gratitude, we could start with the forks and spoons, even though that was not the case for you, since that thought came out of the blue.
Recently I spoke out my appreciation for my kettle. I love the way I can see the water boil through the glass.

    Thank you for sharing this!

Donna, I truly appreciate your encouragement to practice gratitude daily. I often recall things to be grateful as I’m falling asleep. I remember a successful internet marketer talking about how important it is not to compare ourselves to others. (We always compare ourselves with someone more successful when we do this). Rather, it’s important to be grateful for our audience, our online friends, and the great opportunity before us to help many people through our work.

    • Donna.Merrill January 4, 2013 at 10:30 pm #

      Right on point Steve!

It is so important not to compare ourselves to others. We only see with others want us to see. That can give you “the grass is always greener” syndrome lol.

There is not a day that goes by that I am grateful for the incredible people I meet each day in this business.

It is astounding to connect to people that otherwise, I would never meet.

      People like YOU!

I am impressed that you jumped in to do this 30 day blogging challenge. I hesitated and did not start since I had recently completed the 30 day challenge of writing my novel, spent the next month getting it published – received 2 sets of proofs before pushing the button. It is set to go onto Amazon.com in about a week.
Then I joined another challenge to walk 365 miles in a year, 1 mile every day. I am including miles on the stationery bike, treadmill and elliptical at my health club.
So, here I go – another challenge, although I am entering 4 days late. You have just inspired me.

    Hi Donna,

Thanks for such a great post about Gratitude. It’s a great thing to get in the habit of Gratitude and learn to appreciate what we have and those loved ones that we have in our life.

It is very important to be grateful for what we have and think about those who do not have what we have and give thanks and count our blessings.

I am so grateful for my family and for all my business relationships, the friends I have made, the things I have learned so far along the way, the personal development, and the things I have yet to learn.

Thanks for such a great reminder Donna and I wish you good luck with the 30 days blogging challenge. You can do it!!

Appreciating our loved ones and friends are so important. I too, am grateful for my business relationships. Isn’t it a blessing how the internet can enable us to meet people all over the planet. We make so many good relationships that lead to friendships.

I find that so fascinating and am blessed to be part of it all.

I like the “Inner Marketer” concept, Donna. Most of us focus on the external tasks involved in marketing, and rarely get a chance to go inside ourselves to examine our real purpose in the process.

The easiest way to develop gratitude, of course, is to be without those things we take for granted.

I was at a group event once, where we all had to sit in a room for 10 minutes, facing each other in a circle, but not permitted to talk or express ourselves in any way.

That was a really long 10 minutes, and I was awfully grateful to be able to talk and express ideas. 10 minutes earlier, I’d never have given that “gift” a second thought.

    • Donna.Merrill January 3, 2013 at 10:56 pm #

      Well thank you David.

That’s a great example – communication! I never thought of that one!

And yes, I think the easiest way to develop gratitude is to be without things we take for granted. Just look at what Hurricane Sandy has done.
So many without power, heat and food. Just in one snap everything gone.

We must keep these things in our mindset cause ya just never know!

    Hey Donna,

I know what you mean and I start my morning out saying what I’m grateful for as well. I normally just thank God for the same old things because I’m blessed to have them all.

I ran some errands today and the weather here has been in the mid 40’s all week. On three different corners I saw people begging for money because they had no place to stay. Even if we don’t have the most lavish home, we have a roof over our heads and I can’t even imagine having no place at all to go. It’s the simple things we take for granted.

Name one thing I’m grateful for, that’s easy. God granted me another day on this earth.

Thanks for this reminder Donna… It’s sad that some people have to be reminded of the simple things.

You have a great mindset Adrienne!

I am also grateful just for being here. When I see the homeless, my heart just breaks. When I lived in NYC, I would often go out to lunch and purchase a second lunch for a homeless person. Now my daughter carries on our tradition.

Whatever she could spare, she shares. We used to go around NYC when the weather was cold and hand out gloves. There is a wholesale district where you can purchase them by the dozen for such a low cost. We would get in the car and randomly hand them out because fingers freeze first.

There is so much people take for granted. I am Grateful, but I also like to go the extra mile and take action sometimes.

      Thanks for visiting,
