I want to take time out this week and give a special thank you to some amazing bloggers. This is a group of bloggers who have dedicated some of their valuable time and effort to feature me in their own blogs.
It seems like every time I turn around lately, I’m being referenced, mentioned and featured on so many blogs. I want to dedicate this post to acknowledging some of these amazing and highly professional bloggers. I am truly honored by each and every one of them.
So where have I been lately? Not only here on my own blog, but on some other wonderful blogs, too. I taking this time and space to link to their blogs, and I really hope that you will go check them out. Some of them may be new to you, so you can make some new friends, today! Others could be familiar to you, already, but maybe you haven’t visited them for a while. Here’s your chance.
Lots of times, people ask me “How do I get more readership to my blog?” The answer is always the same: Go out there and visit some great bloggers. Read their posts carefully because you will learn a lot. Then, take the time out to leave a good comment. After that, join their social media sites and share their posts.
This is good practice my friends. And it is the only way to increase your engagement from the grass roots… organically, as they say.
The results are easy to see, here.
People I’ve built solid engagement with, are often happy to let their readers and friends know about me. I am equally happy to let my readers know about what they’re doing.
See how it works?
So, here’s a list of some amazing bloggers I’d like to introduce you to today.
JEFF SOLLEE
I love to watch the progress of up and coming bloggers and entrepreneurs who just plow forward with bold authenticity.
Jeff Sollee is among that group of bloggers. He writes about being yourself, blog posting tactics and online relationship building.
He kindly put me in the company of a handful of pretty awesome bloggers when he featured me as one of his favorite bloggers:
“Donna is absolutely inspiring to me! She is such a positive and fun loving person. I have never had the honor to meet her, but I can see her personality through her writing! I have learned so much by reading her posts.”
You can read Jeff’s article here:
“So You Started A Blog…But What’s Next?”
DON PURDUM
Don discusses a wide variety of website strategies and overall online marketing on his “UNVEIL” site.
In an excellent article exploring the role of influential bloggers in highlighting the work of other online entrepreneurs, he cites one of my own blog posts.
Here’s an excerpt from that article.
“In her most recent article, Donna Merrill talks about the importance of connecting within your niche, but she also shares how important it is to go so outside of your niche as you become an influencer with those who have different perspectives and ideas that you can share with your readers. She has a great quote about how you can become someone else’s Google:
‘…how are we going to keep ourselves in the know about things that have little to do with our tight little niche? I dare to say, to accomplish this, you must get out of your niche from time to time. Read people’s blog posts in related areas, and learn from them. This is how you are going to expand your relationships.’
Are you being intentional about connecting with others? Are you being intentional about sharing what others have to say? Are your being purposeful about building your community that will help you grow your online influence and business?”
You can read Don’s entire article here:
“Are You Someone’s Google? A Strategy To Grow Your Online Influence and Business”
Don also mentions me in his blogging round up post. I was so honored to be chosen among the top bloggers he reviewed there.
Here’s an excerpt from that blog post:
You can read Don’s complete review of top bloggers here:
“Rewind Saturday – Top Bloggers The Week of 8/9/14 – 8/15/14”
ANDREW M. WARNER
Andrew impresses me, not only because he owns and operates Warner’s Publishing International, but because he enthusiastically boasts of his “loving dog.” Now that’s authenticity!
It was fun to see that he mentioned me in his amazing pillar post about generating blog traffic.
“Donna Merrill wrote a very interesting post recently,” Andrew writes, “about commenting and engaging with bloggers outside your niche.”
He continues on with a discussion about the role of syndication in driving traffic to your blog.
Check out Andrew’s very interesting “Shade of Info” where he shares lots of top-notch information and guidance for budding online entrepreneurs.
You can read his blog traffic post here:

SUE PRICE
Sue blogs about home-based businees and building residual income.
In a recent post about embracing the world as a Global Village, she kindly referred to me in this context:
“Effective communication online means remembering you are communicating globally when you put anything online… Donna Merrill wrote a post … called “Talking to the World” [in which she] reminds readers of the differences we need to be mindful of when communicating. Donna’s post was the catalyst for me shooting a video which I share here.”

SHERMAN SMITH
I have incredible respect for Sherman Smith. He’s a great blogger, resourceful online marketer, and an amazing salsa dancer!
So I was quite honored when he featured me as one of the bloggers who has had a positive influence on his blogging success.
You can read what Sherman has to say about me, and other influential bloggers, here:

JACKSON NWACHUKWU
Jackson is an unstoppable blogger and entrepreneur.
He recently featured me in his cutting edge blog, “Worth Blogger.”
The article boasts such a fantastic line up world-renowned bloggers, that I was humbled to find myself featured among them.
It’s a great article, and I thank Jackson for his acknowledgement of me and my blogging authority.

ADRIENNE SMITH
If you don’t know Adrienne Smith, yet, then you’re missing out on one of the truly gracious and gifted bloggers I know.
Adrienne recently mentioneed me when talking about my blog post concerning “Loyal Customers.”
Here is what she wrote:
A lot of my readers are just bloggers but a good bit of them are also business owners. In order for our businesses to thrive we need customers. What’s even better though are to have loyal customers.
I fell in love with this story that Donna shared on her blog and I’m sure most of you have already stopped by to read it which of course is a very good thing. Just in case you haven’t, you’ll understand why having customers who respect, appreciate and truly care about you are so vital to having a long lasting business. By the way, this same thing can also apply to your own blog ya know.
Thanks Adrienne!
It’s such a pleasure to get mentioned on your amazing blog.

Donna, those are some great picks! I do not know Jeff Sollee, I’ll have to check his blog out. I just met Don and he’s wonderful, I’ve learned some things already reading his blog. Jackson is new to me too as well as Andrew Warner. Of course I know Adrienne, Sue Price and Sherman as I’ve been following them for years. I’ve learned so much from them too. I like posts like this so I catch up on my reading some great posts as I’ve been behind the past month or so.
Thanks for sharing Donna and enjoy your weekend!

Hi, Donna!
A bit tardy, but didn’t want to miss out on this awesome party you have going on here! Please pass the salsa for my nachos! 😉
Wow! What super duper folks you’ve highlighted, and it’s so refreshing to see a gratitude attitude!
I think it’s wonderful that you’re being referenced all over the place, and rightly so! I think it’s awesome to have recognition because a lot of younger bloggers are looking for someone to guide them, and this is a great way for the spotlight to fall on someone worthy.
I regret not starting a list earlier to keep a reference of the links and people who have mentioned me up to this point, so that I can properly thank them in a full blog post. I have a list now, so better late than never, huh?
I know pretty much everyone in the list, pretty well in fact, except for Jeff – I know of him, I have not personally built a relationship with him like I have the others.
This is a great article, Donna, and thanks for sharing. 🙂
Talk to you soon,
– Carol

I do keep a list, if someone mentions me on their blog, so I can thank them. During this month, it was so crazy that I put them all together for a big shout out party!
Plus, I do have many readers who don’t run in these circles and wanted them to get to know each other.
I had great feedback from some of my readers who want to get to know other bloggers!

Hi Donna,
I am really surprised as I visited your blog last week several times to comment and I didn’t see any post until I visited Don’s blog now which led me to this post. Sorry, but that is exactly what happened.
Great blog post, Donna. That’s really very nice of you to take the time to acknowledge all of those people for their efforts. This showس how your hard work and your consistency in building the relationships with those bloggers payoff and they are know paying it forward to you.
I know some of these amazing bloggers but this is a great opportunity to go and visit those that I don’t know and this is very encouraging Donna to know that the hard work and the commenting on other blogs goes a long way.
Thanks Donna for sharing, it was really encouraging to me!! Have a great week ahead.

Hi Donna,
Wow, congrats! You’re popping up all over the place my friend, and for good reason. You’re as skilled a networker and value provider as I’ve met online because you know how to meld the 2, beautifully. I’m finding that balance myself, still, as I’ve just published another eBook in the last 2 hours – #5 – and still network freely, and publish 2 long form, in-depth posts weekly. I’m finding more balance between it all while still being a world traveler, doing neat stuff here in Fiji, and wherever I happen to be that month.
Agreed 100%. Commenting on blogs, promoting others through sharing their content and simply featuring others is such a fool proof way to be featured on sites. Whatever you give freely, you get, and you’ll keep on getting in exact proportion to how freely you give. Using the same techniques you’ve noted Donna I was featured in some way, shape or form on 40 plus blogs in 12 weeks. It’s been a whirlwind tour but it’s really simple for anybody to nail down some features. Be authentic, write simple, practical, inspired content and promote the stuffing out of your friends. This is the secret to being all over the place.
I’ve seen you featured on a few of the blogs noted above, but need to hop into the other posts. Jackson’s looks so intriguing because he’s noted so many blogging big wigs, folks who’re the creme de la creme of many blogging niches. I can honestly say that freely promoting others and helping them out by posting in-depth comments on their blogs, has helped me retire to a life of island hopping, more than just about any marketing strategy. Keep giving and the getting becomes easier and easier.
Thanks so much Donna, inspired to see you networking like e champ. Tweeting soon, and signing off from Savusavu, Fiji.

I love that you wrote this post Donna!!
In the time since I’ve seriously begun consistent reading of influencer blogs and commenting, the best recommendations of who to pay attention to have come from other bloggers. That is how I found you!
Now just from your gracious post, I have more new friends to meet , learn from and share their knowledge with my readers and others. It’s a lovely example of “what goes around comes around”!
It’s kind of amazing really. We write. We share. We comment, engage, connect, support. An topic or sentence strikes as familiar. We reach out. We move beyond the screen and all of a sudden we are speaking with new friends from across the country or across the world!
Best to you Donna!

Hi Donna
May I tell you I am the lucky one to be with you at Nisha Pandey blog and that’s a great honor for me indeed.
The lengthy list here confirms that fact that you are everywhere in blogosphere; be it a an expert opinion, interview, guest post or authority-based mention. As a matter of fact you deserve more than that.
But the way you acknolwedged all those who loudly admitted your blogging prowess is itself a wonderful marketing style where you equally did justice with your appreciation.
It is always good to visit your blog and read your wonderful posts and this is the result of your consistent hard work and extensive research for your each blog post.
Thanks for sharing your feeling of joy with your blog community and surely I am one of its proud members.

Wow, Donna! I’m just about speechless! I really cannot imagine how you must be feeling to see your hard work and giving attitude rewarded on so many levels! It must be overwhelming! But, you truly deserve it!
I have been out of the blogging scene for awhile now and just coming back into it. I know a few names on the list but it will all come together for me in the near future. I learn so much each time I stop by here and read your posts.
For example, I went to just one blog post that you mentioned above and it was so powerful! I met some new people, felt a new vibe, got inspired, had some new ideas come into my mind… all just by reading what great bloggers have to say to the rest of us aspiring bloggers!
I have all the passion and drive I need for my niche, but what I need is guidance to be successful online and networking with like-minded people. Thank you for introducing me to some really fantastic bloggers!
I so look forward to what comes next! 😉

I feel bad in a way because I don’t have a testimonial type of saying for you like I see others do, however that may change in the not too distant future. I want to say thank you so much for this.
I know it wasn’t too long ago that we connected and I always would see your great comments on Adrienne’s site but that was it. Luckily, we started to connect and I truly appreciate it as well as appreciate you. Hi Donna,
Sorry I am a little late this time, just been SO involved in the new blog community and forum, but glad I made it 🙂
Yes, I’ve read most of these awesome posts where you were mentioned and it does make you feel on top of the world, doesn’t it?
I’ve started putting ALL the places I am mentioned on, on my ‘About’ page, so that I always have the links (as they are a huge number) and remember to visit them to check back each time, and a way of giving back too.
What a co-incidence that our post yesterday also was to honor those, or shall I say an early Thanks Giving to the GEMS of Aha!NOW (you’d know what GEMS stands for once you visit the blog) – to encourage the community members, and here you do the same – give thanks in your wonderful way for those who have featured you, wonderful indeed.
Thanks for sharing this with us, and wish you every success and happiness. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

Hi Don,
Aha..you said the magic word…Blog Commenting. Many of us meet that way and that is why I can never stress enough how commenting is the backbone of our blogs.
People may say it’s a waste of time to do “all that work” but it does pay off. There are many aspects to a business, and blogging is one of them. We have to take it seriously because not only writing good content, but connecting with others is very important.
We all kind of work together in the end. A mention of a blogger, promoting them, engaging is all part of what blogging is all about. We blog for people and not for ourselves.
Sharing content of another is very powerful in the scheme of things. This was one of the main reasons why I just had to stop and give thanks to those who have mentioned me in their posts. Its an example I want to share with others and it is always great to give credit where credit is due!
Have a wonderful week Don,

I always heard about how important it was to build a community but didn’t really understand it until I started to do it four months ago and look… I have amazing new friends and support system.

Hey Donna,
What a great way to end my two days holiday! Donna you are really an epitome of engagement. When I decided to add you to the A-List of super engagement bloggers in my post, I did it because I know too well you are one.
My first contact with you was full of engagement, the way you replied to my chats, selflessly shared my blog posts on social media even without my knowledge and so on.
What surprises me about you is the time you dedicate in helping people grow in blogging. Despite your limited time which I have always known is a luxury you don’t have, you still break out of your comfort zone to visit blogs in your community and do what engagement blogger do. This is a blogging quality that is very rare to find elsewhere except for a seasoned super engagement blogger.
Reading myself in your blog is really a sign that I am getting on in blogging. You talked about the effort I put in when rounding up those awesome top bloggers, it’s something I would love to do over and over because I believe in giving honor to who honor is due.

Hi Jackson,
I was so honored to be on that post among great bloggers. I realized that last month I was mentioned on many blogs and I wanted to shout out to my readers that it comes down to engagement. So here it is…the proof that when we engage with others selflessly, and straight from the heart, it is what bloggers need to do for each other.
I do remember how surprised you were when I shared your blog the first time. You see, I follow a system. I never answer a comment on my blog until I go to that blogger, read their post, comment and share it all over the place. It has become a habit of mine and the engagement is wonderful.
Engagement is the key! But it comes easy for me because I live by the quote “Do unto others as they would do unto you” It’s is just part of me Jackson lol
Oh yes, you sure are getting on in blogging my friend. That epoch post I mention above took a lot of work and was beneficial to many. You mentioned some super bloggers and I had to shout it out because I do train a lot of new bloggers and that was a fine example of what they must do. Be a go giver!

Isn’t it awesome how all of this comes together just by writing great content, putting yourself out there and making those connections with others! People say this is too time consuming but look at all the different places you’ve been mentioned. You weren’t able to achieve this by doing nothing but writing content and then waiting for people to find you.
