To fully develop your power…
you must take firm command of your self-esteem. You can blame low self-esteem on your upbringing, your surroundings, your parents, friends, teachers, the Church, television or anything and anyone else.
To fully develop your power, however…
you must abandon the blame game. You cannot be a victim while you develop your power. Ultimately, you and you alone determine your self-worth.
As a victim, you wonder “can I?”
To develop your power, means you have only to decide “will I?”.
Will you live a a life of victimization, or will you make the conscious decision to reorient your life, and live it through the abundance of the Universe. That means living in your power.

I’d also love to have you comment below with your own stories and thoughts about self-esteem, victimization and how you develop your power.
Definitely. I like to say that if you allow yourself to be a victim, you’ve allowed the person who tormented you to win. They wanted you to fail. To continue in a life of victimisation means you HAVE failed = you’ve given your power to them, just like they wanted.

Hi Anne, So true, never give up your POWER! When someone is a victim, they do have to take the responsibility that they have allowed the other person to take control. Once that responsibility is realized, it is one step toward change.

Change is scary especially when you are thinking about changing the inner you. However breaking down where you are wanting to go into smaller manageable pieces and taking small actions everyday will create the inner change you are searching for.
With each small step confidence grows. We do have the power within.
I liked hearing about your experience with hypnosis – worked extremely well for me and also many others I know. Thank you.
Thank You Brenda! Yes, I totally agree that confidence takes small steps, but each small step is one that is part of you and grows. Thanks for your awesome comment.

Donna,
Great heartfelt video with great stories and information. The whole story about the car accident when you were 17 is totally amazing!!!! From what you are describing, I think it was your carotid artery that was cut. Luckily it was NOT severed completely or you would not have just created that video! To come so close to death, but then to gain so much from that experience. To realize that you have the power over your own life, not the people standing around saying that you are dead. They don’t know you. They don’t know anything about you or your resolve to live and get beyond that car accident. But you knew, and that gave you a strength to get your power back and build your self-esteem. You are so correct when you say that low self-esteem is what holds so many people back! It is low self-esteem and our own self-imposed limits. You gave some great advice on raising our self-esteem as well.
Thanks,
Jupiter Jim
Thank you Jim. It is really going deep inside and learning from every lesson in life along the way, to know who you are. We have our own reality and need to be proud of it.
I have seen so many people rise above their past situations that it is the most beautiful sharing I’ve experienced.
A dumpster baby, now an adult who is fighting her past and now got over the past.
A woman who was raped, that can now be free and trust again.
The list goes on and on. But I am thankful I have met so many people and heard their stories and watched them rise above. Those are my heroes.
When it comes to self esteem, one must look back and count their blessings, because there is ALWAYS someone that had undergone a worse situation.
So RISE ABOVE!

I love that! The decision for sure is will I. Take the power of my life without blaming others or any circumstances. The ones that really win are those who actually realize that responsibility doesn’t mean blame, it just means that you choose to be responsible for your thoughts and therefore your actions towards any given circumstances or things that may happen!

Amen Donna,
What used to be my excuse, is now my power! Since I have accepted my experiences as lessons, and have started sharing my personal hardships with the public, my life has become easier.
My self-esteem is way better because now I accept myself! When you can accept who you are, you are more able to live a more passionate life!
Hi Eldridge, I respect the fact that you share your personal hardships. That is the best way for people to learn because we all have them. I’ve seen your self-esteem grow over the past few months. Life does become easier as we share it with others.
Blessings,
Donna

I agree! You cannot dwell on the past. Life is not easy, not always fun, and sometimes a bit painful emotionally. However, in dwelling on the past and blaming personal failures on it – not only should it not be done, but it is false.
We all have our own choices in life and frankly, even some of those that happened in the past can be results of our own choices. It is important to think to the future, be positive, and tackle those challenges with gusto.

I couldn’t agree with you more Nile. So many use their past as an excuse for not moving forward. If that comes up so many times in one’s life it is a sure sign to go out and get some help. It is a giant red flag. It puzzles me how people don’t really see it. Maybe it’s their comfort zone and they like to be in that box. Hmmmm

Donna,
There is something that I’ve always said. Someone looking for pity and playing the victim is not very attractive. That goes for emotional, mostly. Nobody wants to be around a victim. You have to stop playing the victim card and you’ll go much farther in life.
Best Regards,
Gary

So true Gary. The victim mentality keeps people at a stand still. When I have a client to work with that is of that mindset, I will give them time and homework. If they don’t budge, I kindly tell them we are not a match. Blaming myself, may enlighten them!

Great advice Donna. I agree also that anyone who desires to create change and develop their personal power needs to also cultivate patience because often we have hidden limiting beliefs that cause us to stumble from time to time and it can be a challenge to uncover and turn those beliefs around.
You bet Marquita, Those hidden beliefs can hold us back. This is a very difficult road to walk on. I will be talking about this more in the future. Sometimes just when you think you have uncovered all those past stumbling stones, another comes up and you fall. It is an on going process.
Thank you,
Donna
