ARE YOU STRUGGLING IN YOUR MLM BUSINESS? Part 3

This post was most recently updated on February 23rd, 2014

In Part 1, I explained how to attract leads TO YOU instead of chasing after them with endless phone calls.  In Part 2, I explained how you need to get noticed through Social Networks.

Here, in Part 3, I am going to show you how to use your blog to develop a strong MLM business and downline.

First of all, keep in mind that your blog is the CENTRAL HUB to which people will ultimately come to find out all about YOU. By now, you signed up with all the social networks.  These are the sites to which you want to link your blog so people can see it.

But what is your blog worth if it doesn’t have good content?  By now, you have learned not to make it a blog about your product or business opportunity. That’s like saying “buy me … buy me.”  When you are watching TV commercial, you will usually use that “buy me” time to get a snack or click to another channel.  The same analogy goes here.  People Do Not want to listen to another “buy me” story.

INSTEAD: If you write valuable content that people find helpful, they will look forward to learning more about the content, but even more, they will want to know more about YOU.

You will soon be recognized as a leader within your niche.  And that is want you want to be:  A Leader.  You blog is a place to go to where people will learn something valuable.

It can coincide with your MLM.  The Trick here is to give them valuable information leading to your product without mentioning it.   I’ve seen it time and time again and noticed the great amount of syndication those bloggers are getting.

Here is where Youtube works well, too.  You can insert a Youtube video in your blog post.  Don’t make it too long – 3 to 5 minutes will do.  The shorter the better.  But here they will see You, the Leader, explaining to them how something works.  Let’s use the Health and Wellness niche as an example.  You may be selling a green drink, so take an ingredient in that drink and blog about how important it is for your body.

Example:  “Did you know that sea algae can benefit your health by…etc.”  Many people don’t know that, but your tags will say improve your health, are you always tired? Need more energy?  Sea algae: myth or reality?  These are a few examples you can “tag” your story to.

The point is, your information is not about buying or joining something.  It’s valuable to those who want to learn the content you offer.  And the most valuable thing to them is getting to meet you, a leader in the niche that they are interested in.

Ultimately, this personal branding will help you be a leader in your niche, in your MLM, and with your downline.

Follow these tips, and start developing a great MLM organization. I appreciate your comments or questions below.  I’ll be happy to answer them.

I have always considered a good wordpress blog to not only be the hub of your mlm, but also your entire social networking. Where else can you completely brand yourself, give value to others, and incorporate Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other social networks in one place?

Every word Donna rings true. One of the problems I’m having with my Niche of Old People is they’re dieing off faster than I can replace them. Of my lady I’m just kidding, my mlm doesn’t lend itself to my blog. I’m just here having fun and laying track for a book maybe later on. You are so good and I appreciate you very much.

Hey Donna! Great post as always.

I assume my blog as a “diary of trial and error”. At the time that we turn this space into our central office 🙂 we can share our experience with others, which is always a great exercise to remember them and understand them better as we explain them.

On the other hand, a good blog in terms of content is always a great tool to form part of this huge conversation that is Internet.

No doubts this is the new territory of relations… so, where do we want to be if we are doing a business that demands people´s participation?

    Clever series, Donna!

    Hi Donna,
well said, if you desperately try to be selling, that does not attract anyone, but if we do what you suggest here, to become a leader who teaches how to achieve the goal (good content) we certainly going to succeed,
and video, It is great for creating the connection with our visitors; that is a subject that I have pending 🙁
so thank you very much for reminding me this.

    Hey Donna,

When someone is trying their hardest to sell to me, I find it such a turn off; it reeks of desperation and who wants to buy off someone who appears to be desperate for you to buy their products or join their business anyway?

    Another great post 🙂

Building relationships through your blog is the most important task in this whole social media network marketing world. You got to give out value if you don’t how can you expect people to believe you can help them, or even believe you want to.

Valid points Donna, if you are passionate and believe in the product you are marketing, remember what or why you became interested in that product. Create a picture in the heads of the viewers and allow them to visualize how your service or product can benefit them.

Thank you Wendy. Great points here that you bring out. I truly believe the key to success is from our hearts. If we love our product and want to share the opportunity with others, it comes out of love. I do create that vision for my products. I tell them you can use this XYZ PRODUCT OR go for elective surgery, which is something I rant about.

      Thanks for your comment
      Blessings,

    Donna,
You’ve touched on the key point to building relationships through your blog. It’s not about the business opportunity. It’s about sharing your knowledge and giving value to others. Everything else comes from that first and foremost.

    Keep rocking it!
    Val 🙂

Yes Val, I try to let people know how important it is building relationships. I was recently on someone’s blog that had 40 something comments that were clearly automated. I was the only one who wrote a comment pertaining to his post. Hmmm I wonder how that guy is doing with his numbers. lol
